Eco Friendly Prison in Romania

Criminals and villains of all sorts pay their debt to society within that prison’s walls, but the wardens made sure that the convicts won’t harm the environment the way they harmed the society that sent them behind bars.

Deep in the Danube Delta, far from civilization, Tulcea Penitentiary employs 61 prisoners in its breakthrough ecological farm, that provides food for all the inmates. 105 hectares of land yeld a crop of vegetables sufficient to feed all of the unit’s prisoners and it is also environment friendly.

Other penitentiaries in Romania also have farms, where animals are raised, but they also impact the environment, like any other factory farming business. Tulcea Penitentiary also plans to develop it’s wood shop in order to build furniture for all of Romania’s prisons – the eco friendly way.
