Low Cost Flight Fares About to Climb in Romania

All low cost flights to and from Romania’s capital, Bucharest, are expected to increase by 2013 by an estimated 9 Euros, after the country’s ministry of transportation intends to implement a new strategy regarding the city’s two airports. The “Aurel Vlaicu” International Airport, also known as Băneasa, now the main gate of low cost flights, will be transformed into a luxury and business terminal. All the low cost flights will be transfered to “Henri Coandă” International Airport in Otopeni, according to the document released on Thursday by the secretary for transportation, Anca Boagiu. As airline companies will have higher spendings there, the price per ticket is estimated to rise by 4.5 Euros per trip, making it a total of about 9 Euros for a return flight.
